SCAD has a decentralized campus which spreads across the City of Savannah. Furthermore, SCAD has four locations worldwide in Savannah, USA; Atlanta, USA; Lacoste, France and Hong Kong, China. This unique setting seeks answers in attaining effective and innovative networks. We believe that this physical separation of campuses and departments hampers collaboration and communication to a certain extent.

Network visualizations could prove instrumental in improving SCAD's collaborative network. The SCAD-d3 project is a life-size LED display with multi-touch sensing technology. Each SCAD department would have a screen customized to their settings. The dashboard could give insights into:

Focus on organizational collaboration networks by analyzing communication flows between people: Gain intuitive understanding of the inner working of teams, which are hard to obtain by traditional means.
